Cost Estimate Preparation: This cost estimate was prepared on May 10, 2022 for the Fall 2022 semester. These costs are approximations and are subject to change. The cost estimate is based on IFSA Cuba's Published Cost Estimates.

Exchange Rate: $1 USD = 25 Cuban Pesos (5/10/2022)

Housing: The IFSA Cuba housing component is guaranteed for students. It will be arranged with a carefully selected host family and located within walking distance of the university in the Vedado district of Havana. One student is housed per family for maximum cultural and language integration. You will have a single bedroom with air conditioning, shared or personal bathroom, desk or other designated place to study, and access to a refrigerator. All linens, laundry, and three meals per day are included.

Meals: Three meals included daily as part of the homestay.

Books and Supplies: The cost for books and supplies is low because most reading material (not all) is passed along via flashdrive.

Personal Expenses: Personal expenses are estimates for general expenses of college life, including: course supplies, photocopying, toiletries, snacks, personal care, etc.  It does not factor in any entertainment or personal travel costs.

COVID-19 Related Costs:  Additional costs at the student’s expense related to traveling abroad during COVID-19, including: pre-arrival COVID-19 testing, post-arrival COVID-19 testing, vaccination requirements, quarantine requirements, and COVID-19 testing before return home. These requirements vary at all abroad locations.

Additional Program Information: If student needs to arrange for travel to a gateway city, these are additional variable costs, to be calculated individually by the student.
