Cost Estimate Preparation: This cost estimate was prepared on June 6, 2023 for the Fall 2023 semester. These costs are approximations and are subject to change.
Exchange Rate: USD $1 = 15,000 Lebanese pound (June 6, 2023)
Program Fee: Includes AUB activity fee, technology fee, and health insurance fee.
Lodging: On-campus housing is approximately $1,300/semester. Off-campus housing ranges from $1,900 to $3,800.
Meals: Some on-campus housing may have common kitchen facilities, but you should be expected to eat many of your meals outside of the dorms. AUB has three cafeterias on campus that each serve three meals per day.
Personal Expenses: This estimate is meant to cover general expenses of college life, including additional course supplies, photocopying, toiletries, snacks, cell phone, etc. Personal expenses do not include any entertainment or vacation travel costs.
Local Transportation: This estimate is meant to cover the costs for a monthly public transportation pass and occasional taxi rides for the duration of the program.
Books and Supplies: This estimate is meant to cover the costs of books and course materials.
Additional Program Information:
Miscellaneous Fees: Certain nationalities are eligible for a free visa upon entry to Lebanon. You are encouraged to check with the American University of Beirut, as well as the relevant consulate for your citizenship to determine if you are eligible for this visa. Students can have the $80 application fee and $300 confirmation fee waived and should consult with program GPM for the process to waive fees. Both expenses will be refunded to your student account when you commit to attending.
