Cost Estimate Preparation: This cost estimate was prepared on November 1, 2022 for the Spring 2023 semester. Most of the costs listed above are based on expenses published by Amideast.​ These costs are approximations and are subject to change.

Exchange Rate: USD $1 = 10.8002 Moroccan Dirham (November 1, 2022)

Lodging and Meals: Cost of homestay which includes housing and two meals each day.

Personal Expenses: This does not include money for extensive personal travel. Students who plan to travel around Morocco or internationally during the term should plan to bring additional funds. This estimate is meant to cover general expenses of college life, including additional course supplies, photocopying, toiletries, snacks, cell phone, etc. Personal expenses do not include any entertainment or vacation travel costs.

Additional Program Information: AMIDEAST charges a $500 non-refundable deposit at the time that the student commits to the study abroad program.  The University of Pennsylvania pays this amount to AMIDEAST as a courtesy for Penn students.  However, Penn students who decide to withdraw after committing to the program, or does not meet relevant academic performance requirements by the end of the semester prior to studying abroad, will be billed $500 by the University of Pennsylvania to cover the non-refundable deposit. Additional withdrawal fees may apply depending on the date of withdrawal and AMIDEAST's withdrawal policy.
