AMIDEAST charges a $500 non-refundable deposit. The University of Pennsylvania pays this amount to AMIDEAST as a courtesy for Penn students. However, Penn students who decide not to enroll in the program, will be billed $500 by the University of Pennsylvania to cover the non-refundable deposit.
Please note that the "personal expenses" cover only some basic necessities and does not include students' discretionary spending (e.g. entertainment and travel). It also covers $500/semester for meals not covered by the lodging and meals charge.
**The flight expense listed above is the estimated cost of a round trip ticket from the gateway city of New York to Rabat.
***Students living outside the gateway city may need to arrange for a connecting flight to a gateway city at an additional variable cost, to be calculated individually by the student.
These figures are used for determining financial aid awards for the University of Pennsylvania students.
